Background: An old retired Sand ninja with the sole desire to see her grandson before she dies.
The Deal with her: Grandma Chiyo, an amazing puppet master in her younger days, lost her children to Konoha’s White Fang (Hatake Kakashi’s father) during the Third Secret Ninja War. After which, she brought up her grandson Sasori of the Red Sand, single-handedly. It would’t be too critical to say that she did a sucky job of raising her grandson, for Sasori soon grew insane and carried away with his puppet experiments which Chiyo taught him, eventually killing the 3rd Kazekage and defecting from the Sand Village.
After Sasori left the Hidden Village of the Sand, Grandma Chiyo grew to become a jaded old ninja, and retired with her brother; spending her days pretending to be fishing, and pretending to be dead.
Her call back to action was after her beloved grandson beat up fellow puppet enthusiast Kankurou. With the hope to see her grandson again, she joined with Kakashi, Naruto and Sakura to hunt down Deidara and Sasori.
And thus the tragic story of Grandma Chiyo’s final mission to kill the grandson, which she failed to raise to be a respectable ninja, and the sacrifice of her life for the Kazekage Gaara’s…
